Dear Friends, This is just a quick notice to inform you that everybody of our team is fine and in good health. Thanks so very much for keeping us and our families in your prayers and for reaching out to all of us. We really appreciate the numerous notes of concern of friends and clients. Last Saturday February 27th earthquake affecting areas south of Santiago was the world's 5th strongest ever recorded. To put you in perspective; Chile's most recent earthquake released 500 times more energy than the recent quake in Haiti. As you probably might see in the news the images show a major destruction, most of the damage has occurred in the regions of Maule and Bio Bio more than 320 miles south from Santiago, Chile´s Capital. Patagonia is located nearly 1,600 miles away from the epicenter of the earthquake and thankfully the magnitude of the quake was imperceptible here.
We are pleased to report that our operations in Patagonia, the Atacama Desert, Lake District and Easter Island (Rapa Nui) are running smoothly and our guests and employees are doing well and everyone is in good spirit. We expect the international airport to be fully operational by the next week, at the moment the airport has reopened for a limited inbound international flights. Many thanks for all the support show during this difficult times. "We will raise our beloved Chile, it's not going to be a short task, it's not going to be easy; it will require a lot of effort, but we will do it."
